Hello
One of these baby's is up for sale for 939,33$ (todays rate)(4800nok)
it has 2 broken screws in the back pice. They should be easy to fix with the right tools. and it works great without them.

Is it worth it?

I think this is a bit over the top. I paid less for mine with no deffects.

I have used it for birding for about a year, and have had a lot of fun with it. But it has some Purple Fringing. Used in the right situations it can make fine pictures, but it has it's limitations. Now, mine is semi retired, my main bird lens is DA* 300/4. I,m geting similar or better results with that and the Pentax 1,7 TC with less strugle.
You will also need a rock steady tripod setup. A gimbal mount is useful too.

HTH

I've lost most of the pictures I've made with it in a boat acident, so I can't show you anything. But feel free to ask more.

My biggest concern was the size/weight of it and the fact that you need a realy good tripod or som other setup with beanbags etc.
Then you say the price is to high so i think i let it go.
I have borrowed a vivitar 400mm which i think would do it for me until i can get my hands on something worth having . Thinking of digiscoping too. but have no scope so i'm not sure.

mine is down also. i really need to put it back together. prob is that i have a 300/2.8 and matching TCs that give me a 420/4 or a 600/5.6 with no appreciable loss of IQ. if you want a bean bag to use let me know and i'll customize it for you. if you mean $939usd then it's too much.. here's a shot with it that i waited for 20 minutes for it to happen..this is 90-100 yards/meters away.. also, you will definitly need a good tripod and head for it.

In my opinion every DSLR user should have a tripod rated for a medium format camera anyways, just because you never know when you'll suddenly be using a heavy lens.
Even if you never intend on buying anything that big your prepared for any time someone asks you to try something (which has happened several times with me)
