Our Lens Family: I Love This Photo!

I love this photo from the new K-1 Laboratory site, especially that gleaming 560 in the back!

Might be a few family members missing, though. Maybe they were on vacation at the time and couldn't sit for the shoot.

I see two old wide/normal non-limited FA primes there! One is surely the FA50/1.4 and the other must be the 35/2.0, yes?

And did they put in both a silver and a black FA31?

Patience, young Padawan; in time you will realise, not all lenses do you need. Already have you that which you require to take good photos.

(Actually I don't like Yoda very much, so to paraphrase the great Han Solo, yeah; go ahead and get the lot, kid.)

Check and check.

Silver and black versions off all nine Limiteds (15/21/35/40/70/31/43/77/20-40), which is a little bit of a cheat.

But imagine being able to reach out and grab any lens you want...
Kenspo can probably do that

One of them is the FA 50 but I thought the other one looked like the FA 28 no? Also I didn't see the FA 20.

One must consider the forces of the Dark Side aka LBA. Unless it's defeated I want all of them too!

I liked Yoda when he made his first appearance. He seemed stoned and was acting all goofy

35 and 50 I believe those two and the limiteds are the only FA lenses in production so it makes sense...

The FA 35/2.0 (without the hood mounted) looks a lot like a FA 28/2.8, but you can see the bayonet lugs on the nearer of the two. The FA 35/2 and the 50/1.4 are the only non-Ltd FA primes that are currently available (that's per the Ricoh Japan site, not Amazon or whatever). The 35/2 had been discontinued, but was brought back - it's the "lens so nice, they made it twice!" Hopefully, the FA 20 will make a reappearance for the K-1.

And the lovely k series lenses are currently readily available on well known sites and reputable second hand dealers. I am guessing that plenty of them will be finding their way onto the front of this new camera!!

Ricoh-Pentax isn't in the used lens business, and the photo was meant to display the lenses that they sell.

Now that you mention it, Ricoh has never done a family photo with all Pentax lenses - only the ones that are currently available from them. They may not have one of everything any more. I think you would have to have to go to multiple collectors to get the family photo you want (don't forget M-, A-, F-, FA-, FAJ- series, and adapted M42, 67, and 645!).

Like the M 35/1.4. I wonder if they even have an Ultra-Achromatic-Takumar 85/4.5...

Yes that makes sense; it's showing only the lenses that are still in production. If they included all the lenses they'd need to use a much wider lens

They did have a complete product collection but I believe Hoya disposed of The Pentax Museum.
