D FA 70-200 f/2.8 Pricing

My apologies if this has been asked before: Why is the D FA 70-200 priced $200 more than its Canikon competitors? Reasonable pricing is one reason that I've stayed with Pentax and not gone to Canikon.

Its not the same lens, so its pricing will probably be different. You're also comparing current street pricing to a brand new unreleased lens.

The 70-200 is quite a bit more expensive than all the other recently announced full frame lenses: the 150-450, 15-30, 24-70. The 70-200 is a DFA* series while the others are DFA (without the *), suggesting that the 70-200 is superior build quality and better performance.

The Pentax 70-200 might be better than the less expensive Canikon models. Or maybe it's what Ricoh thought the market would bear.

Pentax is still reasonable compared to the competition. Compare a Nikon D810 plus 70-200 against the K-1 plus 70-200. Similar cameras and similar lenses.

You are talking about pentax' reoease price vs canikons price after being out for months/years.

The DFA 150-450 already sells for hundreds less than the introductory price. I would expect the 70-200 will be the same price or cheaper within months.
