Pentax HD DA 20-40mm limited size reference

I had another user ask me how big in size comparison the 20-40 limited was to any other lens. So, I used the one lens pretty much everyone has or had at one point or another to use as a reference. I love this Limited lens even though I don't shoot much at all with zooms. The other lens is my SMC DAL original kit (6 years ago)18-55mm lens with a cheapo lens hood I bought for it. Thought it might be helpful for any others thinking about it.

Thanks for posting this. That 20-40 is an intriguing range for me but in my limited experience I've never handled one. Good comparison.to see.

I debated this too but wanted the weather resist along with my new K3 purchase. I already had a limited DA21 and a limited DA40 too, but sold the 21 and got this. Haven't decided if I'm gonna sell the DA40 since it hasn't been touched since, but will probably just keep it. No regrets at all. Now it's on my K3 all the time and I also just pocket my FA77 limited for most of my shoots.

Good choice - my 20-40 lives on my K-3II too. And if you want wider, you can take two overlapping photos at 20mm in portrait orientation and stitch them together using ICE to give you an approximate 14-15mm FOV. So this and my 55-300 are the only lenses I routinely carry.

That's what I use much of the time as well, a great combo!

What a pity the 20~40 isn't FF compatible.

Whoa, that's a lot bigger than I expected. I have a few of the Limited primes, and those set my expectations. Thanks for posting that image.
