I caved, I bought a BIGMA!

This freakin LBA has me on my kneees!

Got a bonus from work, went straight to the camera store and bought a Sigma 50-500 APO DG (aka BIGMA).

First shots were impressive for such a monstrosity, good IQ and colour rendition.

Things ways a damn tonne but boy what a sight strapped to a K20D.

Nish,

I'll be out all weekend with it so I'll throw some photos up when I am done.

It is a monster, isn't it? Having purchased one last year my advice for your next purchase is a good monopod if you don't already have one. Happy shooting.

I caved too. It came in Thursday.

Haven't shot TOO much with it yet, but I'm hoping to use it at an airshow next weekend.

I need to work on my upper body strength... The Bigma has reminded me how out of shape I am.

From what I've been reading, the 50-500 is sharper than the 150-500. I've never seen a head-to-head comparison, though.

I purchased the 50-500 after reading alot of reports of the softness of the 150-500.
