I have my Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 Macro and like it. When hiking, taking nature views, etc I'm finding I "bottom out" at 18mm a lot and wish i had a slightly wider view. Would it make sense to go for the Pentax 16-45 f/4? I know it has great IQ. Indoors I have the flash(es) so f/2.8 is not a deciding factor here.

Nope.. doubt you'd find many who would think that crazy...

However.. if you already have the 18 -50 ... and you want wider... why not look at the 12 - 24? IMHO getting that lens instead of the 16-45 would be a better deal if wide is what you're looking for.

If price is an issue... I think there are lenses offered by sigma within the same range that may be at a better price point. Perhaps... someone else will speak to that...

I say you are completely crazy because the additional 2 mm is not enough.

Go for an ultra wide. either sigma 10-20 or pentax 12-24.

If you are otherwise happy with your sigma keep it. I have a 10-20, and 20% of all my shots are with that lens, AND 12% of all my shots are at 10mm. I keep thinking something a little wider, but......what?

I like the output Sigma 18-50 gives. I rarely used 35mm to 50mm range though. I have been looking at the 10-20 and 12-24.... the Sigma looks more appealing.
