Originally posted by Na Horuk Sigma doesn't do that. It only allows mount the be exchanged if they already, currently, sell the lens in both mounts. Sigma will never fit a K-mount on any Sigma lens that isn't officially sold by Sigma as K-mount as well.
What you've just posted is not incompatible with what I said. I just left out the part about the necessity of Sigma already producing the lens in a supported mount, as I figured Clinton already knew that detail. So yes, Sigma does that.
Quote: And I don't know about resale value, because if someone wants to buy a Nikon, then why would they look at the used market and choose the only lens that.. isn't Nikon mount. Seems like a hassle. Maybe T-mount solution, with various adapters supplied along with the lens, but even that seems unlikely.
If only 100 of those lenses are produced - as Clinton speculated in a previous post - and a Nikon user wants to buy the lens but it is sold out in Nikon's native mount, then having the ability to re-fit with a different camera mount expands your customer base, increasing the chance of a sale.
