Another $10.00 lens from St.Vinnie's. Can not find any recent info about this lens here on the forum. Someone named kangaroo82 asked about this lens in 2010. He/she got 5 replies but no answer. Zoom function slides, built in hood. This ones a bit rough on the outside but every things tight, smooth, clean but dusty glass and no aperture issues so what the heck. $10.00.

Anybody have any info?

80-205mm? hmmm normally the "F" 's are fixed mount versions of the adaptamatics or the adaptalls. However there isn't one matching that zoom range. have a look here.

adaptall-2.org

old lenses, adaptamatics....

Thanks for the link. Seems to have plenty of old Tamron info. But once I saw F-system Lenses "(coming soon)." I didn't go any farther.
Apparently it was not a very popular lens. No one has heard of it.

I'd be interested to see some pics of it.

Here ya go Marcus. Lens didn't have a rear cap so I put it on the P3n that came with a Pentax-A 50mm. Another thrift shop purchase.

I'll be honest - that doesn't even look like a tamron. Googling 80-205mm f4.5 pulls up several similar lenses but with third party reseller names eg

Bell & Howell 80-205mm f4.5 constant aperture + Macro | eBay

Osawa MC 80 205mm F4 5 Macro Telephoto Zoom Camera Lens | eBay

Gemini Macro Zoom 80-205mm f4.5

Most unusual to be suggesting tamron bought in a lens from somewhere else to badge...

The mystery continues. Been mostly raining here for the last two days so haven't tried it out yet. If it's junk I'm only out $10.00. No big deal. Maybe a lens to practice tearing apart and putting back together.

It's probably just average, fairly decent at eg f8, like so many similar optics of the time.
