The 31 is a slightly long "standard" lens on the K20. the actual standard would be around 27~29mm, depending on the actual used real estate on the sensor.
WIW, on the 35mm film format, 43mm is technically the standard focal length, with the more normal 50mm lens a very slight telephoto.
But this is splitting hairs a lot thinner than is my norm.
Suffice it to say that the 31mm is not a wide angle lens if your intent is to use it on the K20. If you want a nice wide angle, the 21mm is very good indeed.
I prefer a more top heavy 38 24 36
