In This Thread the 31ltd is compared to theDA 35ltd macro with favorable results. The 31ltd is a marquis lens, no doubt.

It really is a great lens. Personally I love it for landscapes. Something wider is often nice, but in scenes where there's a lot of blank space it can isolate precisely what you want to show.

Once you try the 31, you may reconsider the 70 and go for the 77 next--after all, they're a family.

She and I are close to meeting (just a few more days now). Didn't see much on this lens in the forums here as far as a dedicated thread.

Just about as good as they get from my understanding. What I've read says this lens is very well behaved. I chose this over the 70mm 2.4 in purchase order, have the cash so I figured I get this one first.

Anyone shoot landscapes with it here as well?

Interesting. So in other words, I should try to nail this one BEFORE I get the 12-24 (all part of my long term lens aquisition plan). Sounds like a plan.

Might as well go ahead and get the 43 and 77 ordered. After you shoot the 31 you'll see what I mean:-).
Man I love that lens, it's what photography is all about.

I found a 31 at an irresistible price and bought it but I haven't fallen in love with it yet the way I did with the 77. Here's my best so far.

Gorgeous!

I used to have a P&S that had a panorama stitcher built-in, but have been wanting to try that with real glass
