Hello! I have a oportunity to get a М 42 Asahi Pentax Takumar 100 мм Macro. What can you say about this lens? Does anyone have any samples of it?

i don't have it but it's similar to the Pentax K, M and A 100mm F4 macros.
only 1:2 magnification, however it seems to be pretty sharp

I can say that if the shop I bought one from two days ago doesn't ship it tomorrow, I'm going to get on the phone and raise a little hell.

I used to own the M version of this lens. Very nice in all respects. I used it with an LX so I've no Digital experience with it but it was sharp, great colour and would focus very easily.

What price can you get it for?

I have a SMC Takumar 100mm f/4 macro. I fanally got a M42 adaptor and have recently been using the 100mm macro on my k100D. This lens is super sharp, but the DOF is fairly narrow even at f/22. Color and bokeh seem very good.

Here are a few recent examples taken in my backyard. All shots were handheld.

I am super p*ssed off.

The seller I got mine from has a brick-n-mortar store in addition to selling via Yahoo Japan auctions, I learned from a phone call to them this evening. My payment to them cleared three days ago. Most sellers have items to you here the day after payment clears. The guy on the phone told me they had sold mine to a walk-in customer and were trying to find me another one. Thanks, you b*stards. You could have at least sent me an e-mail. They're going to refund my money and add 10 bucks for my inconvenience.

That totally sucks. These aren't easy to come by. Lousy service all around.
