This has rather amazed me. I normally just shoot to the 'view' through the viewfinder that is right for my idea and never really considered the FL.
I tried the DA* 50-135, the 16-50, and an old M 50 1.7 back-to-back-to-back moments ago and each of them at 50mm has a different view at (near) infinity. I wasn't able to test to infinity but just above it, yet I suspect @ infinity would be similar in results.
Now when suggesting a prime lens, I might be hesitant to suggest taking a zoom and seeing what FL appeals to them the most if the FL they are checking is on either bound of the zoom's FL.
