Being the IQ whore that I am......I'm wondering if purchasing a brand new Pentax DA 12-24 is going to get me appreciable IQ over the Sigma 10-20 F4-5.6 that I already own. Below are a few shots I took today. All at F9.

In a previous thread I complained about the left side being a little mushy. Not sure if the DA 12-24 quality control is any better but I'm willing to pony up for a new one if it is.......

The last pic was cropped a bit so the left side is nearly identical to the right.

Why, yes, the Pentax 12-24 is MUCH better. In fact, I think there is one available on the Marketplace as we speak! ;-)

But if I buy it from bhphotovideo I can return 6 times before I get one that I like

The Sigma 10-20mm is generally considered to have pretty good image quality. The one that I owned had nice contrast and was very sharp across the frame. Personally, I would hate to give up a 10mm maximum angle for 12mm. If you like shooting wide, then I would probably try to find a better 10-20mm or else upgrade to the 8-16mm before I switched to a 12-anything.

I don't have a flickr account, so I can't view your full-size images to pixel-peep, but the overall images look very nice to me.
