Well I did purchase this lens and is it noisy ? "nooooo" does it make a noise "yes" after all it is a screw drive. I find the focus confirmation beep louder than the focus drive. I've only had it a day and have only shot so far at 2.8 in sunny weather with very impressive results.
I do use a sling strap so need the tripod collar on the lens but with not being able to get my fingers between it and the lens body makes for awkward holding. Has anyone found a tripod mount with a long neck that will fit this lens ?
