They are full frame compatible, so I assume they are expecting a larger demand?

Yes, looks like it, although smart thing for Pentax would be to increase production instead of margins!

No worries though as I can find then for $104 and $89 on ebay..
I am also waiting to see the pics from K-1 to decide whether to jump ship.

The price on both these lenses tends to fluctuate quite a bit.

It will drop again, they seem to do this at least twice a year.

I am the happy owner of both

Even with the increase, they are still an incredible value. Lens prices always go up in the spring (or sale prices are discontinued) because that is the prime season for outdoor activity, vacations, picture taking and tax refunds. Right now is a great time to buy long underwear and ski equipment. Prices usually start dropping in the fall with the best deals in late November through Christmas. A couple of years ago, I bought a new Sigma 150-500 long zoom on Black Friday and it literally sat unused for over 5 months. If you wait until spring or your tax refund to buy new gear, be prepared to spend more.

Both these lenses were $150ish a couple years ago. A fair price even at that mark. Now, if they jumped from
$90 to $240, that might actually be something to get alarmed about...

This. Plus, $89 was way below MAP, they so stores that partook in the pricing war may have been forced to end the sale.
