And @Ole :
Am I confused or is there some confusion with the data on the Super-Takumar/Auto-Takumar/Takumar 135mm F3.5 lens review page?

The specs charts include this info:

"Variants
1: Takumar 135mm F3.5, chrome and black, close focus 200 cm
2: Auto-Takumar 135mm F3.5
3: Takumar 135mm F3.5, all black, close focus 150 cm
4: Super-Takumar 135mm F3.5, model 1, same 5 element optics as the predecessors (this lens)
5: Super-Takumar 135mm F3.5, model 2, 4 element optical design
6: Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 135mm F3.5, same 4 element optical design as the latest Super-Takumar"

Shouldn't number 3 be number 2?
And on the late, all black Takumar's spec chart its MFD is listed as 180 cm, unlike in the summary text above.

There's also a mistake in that page, the all-black Takumar's filter size is 49mm instead of 46mm.

Here is my Super-Tak 55/1.8. To me, it fits best with the one marked (Interim) in your group photo of this lens - Jack

In the notes on variants I have listed the lenses in the order of their release per the data I had at the time of creating the entries. Granted, those dates are somewhat uncertain in that my various sources disagree and I have to decide which one to trust the most!

150 cm is the correct number. I have corrected the database. Thanks!

@jbinpg

No, your lens is the most recent model of the Super-Takumar 55mm F1.8. The interim model had fine ribs and no knurls on the aperture ring.

I don't see this variant of the 55 1.8 auto takumar among the 8 posted until now. The only difference i can find between this one and the earliest super takumar (other than the name on the front ring), is the absence of the "R" index.

Thanks for clarifying, Ole. You certainly know more about it than I do.

The lens database is an invaluable resource! Thank you for making it possible.

Thanks for the images.

It looks as if we have yet another variant!

I have added it to the database page.
