DA55-300 in the dark...

This is one amazing lens! Keep in mind that the following pics are handheld with no PP, other than converting from RAW to JPG.

Yes, Loverboy continues to rock on.

I really like the Sunkist billboard. How is it lit? I assume those are neon tubes spelling out Tropicana, but what about the lemon and the writing? Did you use flash?

I know I used flash on some of them, but I don't remember which ones without looking at the exif info (for faster shutter speed). Hmmm...let's see here (as she opens up LR to take a look)...

Tropicana sign--I believe that I did use flash as the shutter speed is 1/125 sec. BTW, I don't know for sure how the orange and "Pure Premium" is lit up, but my best guess would be florescent.
Roof sign--1/15 sec.
Loverboy--1/25 sec.

ISO on all pics- 400 (I was afraid to take it beyond that for fear of too much noise).

Thanks for all the positive buzz.

For K100D and others that are drooling over this lens but haven't pulled the trigger, I guess all of you need to start saving those extra dollars (US, Canadian, or Australian), Euros, Pesos, Yen, etc. $350 at Amazon or Adorama isn't that expensive and you definitely won't regret this purchase.

Cupic

in ordering from BH can you tell me is it door to door or collected from post office or elsewhere?

Me and the wife both work, so being home for a parcel delivery is not an option.

How was the exchange rate mate?

have fun with the new lens.

Nulla at the going rate as of today, $US350 will cost just under $AUS430.

B&H is delivered to the door by courier, but a notice is left to pick up at the depot if nobody in attendance. (Thats the usual in my area, anyway).

I have been doing quite a bit of thinking about this lens, myself. I think you may have just sold me, Heather.

Get thee behind me, LBA????

your input much appreciated... I have since dealt with B&H and I am very happy with their service, phew 4 days from order to door resulted... Teds Cameras took 12 days for one item.
