I'll let you buy it, as long as you send it here for testing.
After a 6 month or longer testing period I'll let you know what the IQ is like and let you decide if you still want it.

Well J, the 200 is mostly an outdoor focal range where f4 is fast enough usually. If you are looking accessorize your existing DA*'s, you should consider some of your other glass expendible in place of this. This always works for me. When its almost paid for in this way, then its easy to buy in.

You can let loose both of your existing 200/4's to start with. The 2.8 gives you some interesting shooting options and weather sealing (at the cost of an aperture ring, as pointed out). If you aren't using much over this focal length, your Tamron looks like a last choice between all your other coverage of its ranges. With a couple of nice 85mm's and the 50-135s versatility, you could also easily loose your two 135 f3.5s without even flinching too.

You might actually make money on this deal, heh.

Or... wait for the 60-250? I will come out eventually! Might be worth it since you already have two 200mm primes.

Did you write that with a straight face?

J., here's what I have to say:

Do you have a college fund for your kid? What do you think will be more useful to him in 17 years time, daddy's old 200mm lens, or an education?

Quote from the "Takumar club" thread:

"Super Takumars and Pentax-M's are actually more addicting to me than new DA*
or limited lenses."...jsherman999

Me thinks mister "J" is a little schizo!

Hold true to yourself J...resist the dark side and be faithful to what you know.
