If you had a camera, do you feel you could figure it out?

I don't know - but there should be any data in the lensrom for screwdrive like in the 50-135 rom.

I also started to "decrypt" a 50-135 lensrom to adjust focus by myself and then create a excel file to do it easier, but that takes some time

I have the gear and a 60-250 on hand. I regularly convert the other DA*'s that have both types of focus (16-50, 50-135, 200, 300) and I would be happy to send you my DA* 60-250 file to look over. I could also load any file you come up with back to the lens. Using the method for 16-50 and others results in a lens that doesn't work. It typically works for one or two button presses and then reverts to SDM. Sometimes it even seems to fight itself. I don't' consider it viable at this time. I have heard of and spoken with one person from Russia I think where they claim to have a converted 60-250.

I stared a PM with Duc-Driver. He has a 60-250, but he doesn't have a camera to upload/save files. He is willing to give this hack a shot, but might need some help sourcing a camera. Would you be willing to toss in some money towards an camera him? He has found a K-R that might work.

Toss out the numbers? Maybe we can get several people on board. I use a K100D and K100D Super myself.

The K-R he was thinking about is 80 EUR. If that doesn't work out, he will probably need between $120-80 USD to get a camera. I am waiting for him to get back to me to see if he wants to give this a go. His perk is he keeps the camera, but as with all hacks, there aren't any guarantees.

If interested members contributed, that would drive down our individual cost. So if you are in, that makes 3 of us, so max damage would be $40 each if my numbers hold. He is in Germany, so the market might be a little different. I'll ask him for more concrete numbers.

Do you think we should start a new donation thread to get on the front page?

I've got a 60-250 and want to try different methods but until now I can't download/upload a rom to the lens...need a old digital camera for that.
An old camera should cost not more then 70€ (75 US $)
And there is no guarantee if I it's possible - but I will give it a try.

For the moment I am offering to load files to my working 60-250 until you get a body that works. Please let me know if you are interested. I can send my lens file to you and you can make mods and I can try loading the file.

So far..but only working if I focus manually to nearest distance
