Sweet. Any chance of an unedited version of the first shot?

Gooshin, the lens is certainly good but the "see your image in the eyeball" resolution is because of the K20D's sensor.

Once people outgrow the kit lens....this is the very first lens they should pick up. It's a fantastic lens...and a total steal for the price.

welcome to the world of the fast 50
50s even after crop factor make surprisingly good walk about lenses

i havent done side by side comparisons, but i feel that at between 1.4 and 2.2 the 43 is no match.

and the FOV doesnt bother me much, i'll have to juggle some tests, but i have a feeling that the 50 might take the place of the 43

my next purchase, i am eyeing the Sigma 30 F1.4

interesting, i should try to do the same as well with my 50 and FA43. the brief time i've used the FA43, the rendering was excellent and very sharp. although the 50 hasn't disappointed either, but it hasn't really "wowwed" me in anyway besides the thin DOF. and i like the smaller lens and the metal build of the Limited.

Sigma 30 1.4 :/ ... you're not gonna go for the FA31?

I'd be interested to see the bokeh of the 30/1.4. Photozone did specifically demonstrate that the FA31 had the edge for Pentax owners in the typical measures of lens quality (MTF, edge to edge sharpness, vignette, etc) over the 30/1.4 - but f1.4 has a charm all its own. The 31 has never stolen my heart like the Nokton did with its 1.4 abilities.

I'd curiously observe you're work with the 30 if you got one Gooshin.

when i looked over my pictures that i took with your FA31, i confirmed what i assumed, it was nearly identical to the 43 just different FOV.

at 1.8 it was by no means stellar, and at F4.0 it was sharp, as expected, but is the sharpness worth the extra 300-400 dollars over the Sigma 30?

also many people here will speak of colour and contrast, thats fine and dandy but you have to remember that this is digital! coloru and contrast become entirely arbirtrary to what you want it to be when you post process (assuming you post process)

so as soon as some of my other collection sells off i will purchase the SIgma 30 and take a look see.
