Has anyone noticed the prices on Pentax lenses have gone up?

B&H has jacked their prices on many of the Pentax lenses.
Anyone know why? Is it because people are looking at Pentax more do to the K-1 release? Weakening dollar?
I have had the 35mm Macro Ltd. in my wish list for quite some time. It was $399.00 when I put it there now it is $496.00.

The prices really tend to fluctuate quite a bit, since sales come on and off. I really don't think this has anything to do with the K-1

The lenses are already way below what they were launched at.

Pentax lens prices have increased alot in Australia. The DA*300mmF4 was around $1300AU at the start of the year. It's now $1700 to $1800AU. Seems to be across the lens range. An increase of at least 300+ dollars hear in Australia.

I imagine that's pretty much because of the exchange rate changes, ie the fall of the AUD against the USD. We'd better get used to it, because ours probably has a little way to fall yet. Contrary to the view of some in this Forum, CRK have done a good job of holding lens prices down since the fall started, presumably through stock levels from earlier times, and maybe they had their foreign exchange rates hedged as well, but there's only so long you can go on like that.

You would think prices of FF vintage K mount prime lenses would firm given the interest in the K1. Of course Pentax were very big in those days and large numbers of cameras and lenses were produced.

Yes - CRK has increased the price of the FA 77mm/f1.8 by several hundred dollars. I think it went from $899 to $1399 - more than a 50% increase. But, if you want something really weird, CRK has:
K-3 + 18-135 for $1647.80
K-3 + 18-55 for $1428.90
BUT if you want the K-3 body only - that will cost you $1669.80 !!!
It has been like that for some time now.

Looks like you could come to the states buy all new Pentax gear and the savings would pay for your trip.
