Hello. I have just bought a used 14mm and have a question about the focus ring. It works fine on manual focus but travels completely round. SHould this happen as part of the ratchet system that keep it still on auto focus or is the lens actually broken? Most of the demo video`s on utube show the focus ring as stiff but non seem to move after the focus limit.

Any advise would be much appreciated. Phil

The lens has Quickshift, so you can focus it manually even when camera is set to AF (but don't do this while the AF motor is running)
As you turn the focus ring, what happens to the distance scales? Do they stop at infinity, minimum focus?

It's normal for the ring to turn indefinitely. You should feel more resistance once you reach either end of the focusing range, however.

This is how all modern Pentax lenses are designed, since you can make manual adjustments to the focus setting at any time.

Yes the lens stops at each end of the focus scale. The lens works perfectly just wanted to check with others thank you.
