Someone just posted today in the film forum I think, that they use the 16-45 as a full frame 20-45mm f4 lens on their film cameras, saying it only vignettes from 16-19mm. So no reason to sell it so soon after getting a K-1

I like mine a lot (on APSC of course)

I have a 16-45. First digital lens I bought for my new K10D. Good lens. Better than the 18-55, but not as good as the 12-24. No surprise as the 12-24 is a really great lens and quit a bit more dollars than the 16-45.

I have to admit, I mostly use my 12-24 for wide angle shots, rarely use my 16-45 and never use my 18-55.

I paid $300 for my brand-new DA 16-45 when Willoughby's in New York was closing them out a few years ago. I bought it just in case the SDM in my DA* 16-50 ever gave me trouble. I think it's a solid lens and if you can pick up a leftover new or gently used example at a good price, I say go for it. It may not become your favorite lens, but it'll earn a place in your kit, be surprisingly useful and give solid results. Definitely a step up from the kit lenses.

You wouldn't happen to be selling in Australia would you?
Perhaps. I am not sure. The shipping will be more than US. Otherwise, the price will be more than competitive based on going used lens rates.

I am gonna try to list the 16-45 along with other Pentax gear this week. I ended up selling a few items on another forum that hardly had any Pentax activity but now gets Pentax items listed and bought and sold more regularly.

Occasionally my wife takes the 16-45 off her K5 to put on another lens. I bought it for her with the K10D. She would be terribly disappointed if something happened to her lens.

I absolutely love this lens, yes it's old now, and I believe it's been put out to pasture (correct me if wrong) but anyone else have and love it as much as I do? if it ever dies beyond repair and I can't find another I'll be crushed heh
I paid only $100 for my first one, via Craigslist, that was a bargain.

The main issue for me is the severe wobble in the front barrel. It's enough to affect edge performance. I don't believe it can be fixed, at least not practically.

I have it and lives on my K-01, which makes it a bigger oddball but the weak AA filter in the K-01 really suit this lens and makes for a good second camera. The K3 has the K 50mm 1.4 on it most other days, so the 16-45 is the wide choice for now.

Fair enough. Shipping from the US is so expensive!

Be careful with that lens hood - if you keep it on and put the camera down on a flat surface with the lens extended you'll be placing a lot of lateral stress on the lens barrel and you'll end up with the deadly front barrel wobble.

I'll keep that in mind! I generally take them off cos they hide the distance scale.

bessa-66 the only "odd" quirk about the 16-45 is you zoon out ( full extension for wide angle) a bit backwards than other lenses heh
