LBA......If You Had To Sell......what would it be ?

If Push Came To Shove and you had to sell off an entire series of Lenses........would it be your SMC-A's......or......SMC-K's ?
24mm , 28mm , 35mm , 50mm ,105mm, 135mm ........would you keep the K's....or the A's ?
For myself I would definitely keep the SMC-K lenses.......the A series would be the ones I would sell.
Those K's just seem to render a bit better , overall a tiny bit sharper , and the colors seem a touch better to me.
Been thinking of updating to yet another recent Pentax autofocus lens........somethings gotta go !

Depends which you are comparing against: for me
A24 over K24
K28/3.5 over A28
K35/3.5 over A35
K50/1.4 over A50/1.4
A100 over K105
K135/2.5 over A135/2.8

By in large due to rendering returned and also tactile feel. The K's have a much nicer build. The 2 x f/3.5s are lovely little lens, very flat field resolution wise. K50 returns a deeper richer rendering than the A50. Never got on with the K105 so personally don't rate it. The K135/2.5 is a tank but can be persuaded to greatness when the planets align

Do you also use film cameras? If so, are they AE film cameras?

(I would keep all my K lenses and use the proceeds for an A50/1.2).

Yes I use Ricoh XR-10 Film Cameras (not Compatible with A)....have 2 with another on the way. Actually had a SMC-K 50mm 1.2 and a Rikenon 1.2......Sold both last year on Ebay as I just didn't get too excited about any advantages of f1.2 over several 1.4 lenses I already have.
I AM thinking of a Backup K-1 though.......and also the DFA 15-30 lens........and that has some VERY Drastic and Devious thoughts going through my head right now...I got a Hunch something is gonna Give REAL SOON........

I'm surprised you suggested 24mm A over the 24mm K version ? I have noticed my A is sharper at infinity then the K version.

Would sell the A lenses every time except for the A 50mm 1.2

The K lenses seem to always capture images that are more life like and warm. Manual focussing is a joy with these lenses. The K 55m 1.8 is a great example, I find it more fun to use than most other nifty-fifty including the F/FA/DA lens.

But with A lenses you don't have to niggle with the green button. I'd keep both.

No Green Button in TAv Mode. I shoot 99% manual so its second nature anyway.
