I'm starting this thread for people to identify, and track down really rare Pentax lenses.

One lens I would like to get more info on is the M 35mm 1.4. The pentax forums database states that this lens was made for less than a year and no copies have been sighted. If anyone had any info please post in reply to this.

There was a SMC Pentax 35mm f2.0 on Goodwill last week.....sold for $277 I think. Don't really know how Rare it is , but I never saw one in the flesh so to say.
I stopped bidding at $276.......now I could Kick myself for not going a bit higher.

I once emailed Ricoh asking about M35 f1.4 and the answer I got was that they never received information about that lens from the manufacturer.

Of course they didn't, that lens was supposed to be launched in the 1980's along with the Pentax LX as I recall. There was also a K 300mm f/2 in the works.

They're not uncommon. Several have sold here. I have one. $275 is about right. I actually think the K35/3.5 is a better lens.

Not really rare but not so common too, saw two recently in local classifieds but couldn't justify the price-performance.

I've seen mention of about 6-8 copies over the years, but I am the only person taking photos with it and posting them.

The other owners are probably hiding in a dark cave polishing their preciousss....
