+1 for me.

15mm f4, f5.6 makes sense.
I would point to lenses like the Voigtlander 12/5.6 and 15/5.6 and their success in both pictures taken and general acceptance as a proof that it need not be unusable in some of the situations mentioned.
I always find it interesting that Voigtlander can come out with slow lenses and people will praise its rendering and compactness. If it's anyone else everyone just focuses on how slow the lens is.

Me too! I have always dreamed of a (D)FA 20mm Ltd. I have the FA 20, which is a pretty good lens (some barrel distortion) but something with the build and optical qualities of an FA Limited would be a must-have.

Darling Harbour, darling
I have done it myself before I knew better. The chance to damage both teleconverter and lens is too much risk for me.

I've been looking at lots of shots from the Voigtlander Skopar 20 (some with the D800) and am thinking of just getting one..... it's pretty well much a DA 15. Might sell a FA20-35 I just got.... mostly I like really small metal primes it seems.... so easey to just have with you.

There's always the Zenitar 16mm f2.8 if you don't care much for straight lines...

The DA 10-17 sorta does that role around 15mm....you can still get the Voigtlander new at the moment.... but not cheap!

I am all for something like that as long as it great at the f/5.6 apperture border to border. And honestly for the actual max apperture I let the engineer see what would work.

Me I care to have no field curvature, nice rendering a compact lens. I do believe you could do that even FF if you use moderate apperture in f/2.8-5.6 range depending of how wide angle of view you expect to cover.

Maybe 15mm f/5.6, 20mm f/3.2 or 24mm f/2.8 ?

Slow, but a joy and quite a wonder to have 12mm at the size of perhaps a K28/3.5
Are you using that on a Pentax, somehow? Leitax mount adaptor?

Oh well..... just bought a Voigtlander Skopar K mount 20/3.5..... seems you can still buy them new if you know where (thanks Vespats)..... seems to be quite close to our beloved DA 15 (small, flare resistant.... field curature and soft corners'n all!)
