Had the same issue. Bought on Amazon. Got the lens, and for the price paid was rather disappointed.

Just returned the lens and called it a day.

Solution: Buy 10 lenses from bhphotovideo or Adorama for $3,000. Test all and keep the one good lens. Return the other 9 for a $2,700 credit. Yea....... Sounds like something I'd wanna do

While I would agree that many lenses are not very sharp wide open and most lenses get sharper once you stop down one or two full stops, the Samyang 14mm is really quite sharp wide open, if its optics are in good shape. The main problem was (is still?) Quality Control, so many lenses were sold with decentering issues. That said, it is worth it to return and get a better copy, because the lens is quite great. Its my main UWA prime, so I often recommend it to people (it just is good), but I also always warn them of the risks (bad copies, manual focus difficulty). Bad copies can hopefully get exchanged, manual focus can be learned.

You can check the thread here and search for 14mm: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/122-lens-clubs/137335-samyang-lens-club-38.html

Wow, bad copy, never seen one like that. I have a good one for sale for $210 if you're interested. Only selling to go wider.
