I'll do Buschmaster one better. I'll email you photos that I take with your new lenses, and send you actual prints of selected quality pictures. Once a year you will receive a letter from your lens, informing you of how it is doing. Included with the letter will be a picture of your lens with all of its lens friends. If you should ever travel to this part of the world, I'll allow you to take your lens on a photo outing (credit card required).

Hopefully, I have it under control now. I went to b&h's website and didn't buy anything today! I had some goodies I ordered last week show up, my wireless and wired remotes, so with the lenses coming this week I should be fine.
I need to go get my wife something for valentines day, so she won't be mad when I tell her what she got me this week!

Okay. I have the cure!

Everyone who really gets a strong urge to buy a lens and they're not sure they'll be able to overcome it... Buy a lens for me! See, what will happen here is that you will spend the money, giving you the feeling you bought a lens, because after all, you did. Just not for yourself! This feeling will be the same initial feeling, and when I start shooting with the lens you just bought me it will give you a sense of jealousy. You want that lens, that's why you bought it, right? So you buy another, bigger, even more awesome lens. Again sending it to me. You get the same feeling of euphoria buying a lens that runners get after each mile. Again, I'm taking lots of pictures with what you feel is rightfully your lens. At this point, you can only associate lenses with the pain it brings, watching someone else take pictures with something you spent money on.

It's a win-win.

To enroll in the Lenses for Buschy program please send an application via pm including name, email, and what type of lenses you are currently looking to buy (him).
good thinking! and to cure your LGA (lens getting addiction), you can send them to me because I know you from macrumors!

OMg thats hilarious! I almost burst out laughing when I read the thread titled:

"I believe I have LBA!!!!!!" Haha!

Yea we all have it to varying degrees. I switched over from Canon Film to Pentax primarily because autofocus sucked and I can't manual focus off a Rebel. The Pentax manual focus screen was a gem and to day this, I'm still prefer exclusively MF even off the matte screens of a dslr.

Plus I got no job so LBA only goes so far. :P

Dead right; impecuniousness is the ultimate cure for all fiscally related addictive behaviours.
So don't buy lenses to give to others - just send me all your cash!

Na mate.....DO NOT fight it! Honest...resistance is useless, futile
Just bask in it's glory, revel in the warm inner glow of LBA.
Once it's got ya....you are its servant forever more.

So just enjoy.
Grant.

Thanks for "helping" with the situation, Grant! Haha.

The most $$ I've dropped on a lens was $150CAN for the Sigma 24-135. Everything else has been second hand grabs off ebay or at the camera store.

Then again being without a job, my financil peril is magnified. Especially having just ebayed a Vivitar 28-90mm...my saving account is positively finished.

As I've said before. There are two type of Photographer.

Those who have already succumbed to LBA and Those who will succumb.

A week after I got the camera and kit lens, I bought the 50-200. Then I ordered the 10-17 fisheye lens.

Today, I went overboard and bought a da-70 and a fa-43, both limited models. I am not buying anymore lenses, especially if my wife catches me!

Those zooms are excellent for the money. I use my 10-17mm everywhere. I choose the 50-200mm over the Bigma unless I want to be way out there.

The first step is to admit you have a problem.

My friend has severe LBA...and Big Brands LBA. First he was planning for a E500 two lens kit and I reminded him to get a K-4/3 or OM-4/3 adapter when he has the chance.

(Fast Foward 2-3 months)

..dumped E500 idea for the E-1

He's barely gotten onto the art side of photography and he's already got a bigma..on top of the
ZD 14-54 / 2.8-3.5
ZD 40-150 / 3.5-4.5
ZD 35 / 3.5
FL-36
Personally I don't know how he'll carry an E-1 w/ grip + bigma around, let alone pull it out and set it up time to catch a photo oppurtunity. (Thats tripod + textbooks aside.)

I swear the DPR threads have poisoned him.

<g>

Actually, the two types are those that have already succumbed to LBA and already know it and those that have already succumbed to LBA and are just about to find that out - <g>.

You wretched weaklings!

I can stop. I stopped twice last week just to prove to myself that I could!

Your wife called - said she wants a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 for valentines day.

(see, when LBA really hits, you start to hear voices like this.)

By the way...
