I actually think it should be the task of the moderators to push all the endless supply of threads "I wish" and "I think they should" and "I want" and "I hope" into one single collective thread of silly christmas wishes with little to no relevancy to anyone. They are just polluting the rumors section here (and elsewhere).

Mistral75 has been well informed in the past so I am somewhat unsure if he is suggesting something with a real rumor base or if it is just wishful thinking.
There is no wishful thinking in my original post, only facts, then some considerations about cost sharing and a final question.

Then it does not qualify for this section at all:
As a reminder, our News and Rumors forum is only for the discussion of confirmed Pentax or Pentax-related news as well as credible rumors.

What's this obsession with such huge lenses? I find the FA 31 annoyingly large/heavy!

Time will tell about credibility .

At the very least, your thread title needs a question mark--and probably a whole re-write, to be honest.

I took "...for a wide-angle prime..." as unsaid but understood.

These lenses remind me of that huge Schneider Angulon tilt-shift lens I saw at Camera Lane in Melbourne in February/March. A thing of beauty, but wholly impractical for anyone even thinking of travelling light. And the price... *shudders*

No cooperation of Ricoh with Tokina. And I hope all new DFA lenses will be pure Pentax made.
One of the best lens in my collection is the 50-135 which is a joint effort between Pentax and Tokina. I will never sell this lens.

I would realy want them to partner with Tokina again, more than Tamron to be honest.
You might find interesting to re-read this report made by Pentax Forums staff on February 1st, 2013, it being the first solid rumour / confirmation of what was to become the K-1.

The source was a Tokina employee .

https://www.pentaxforums.com/articles/cpplus-2013/tokina-confirms-pentax-full...velopment.html

P.S.: I had totally forgotten this report; a friend of mine reminded me of it half an hour ago.

It's not our job to sort and categorise content; we rely on members to use their best judgement and post in the correct forums. Mostly, that's what happens, but occasionally people unintentionally slip up (I know I do from time to time) and we can step in as and when we become aware.

We certainly don't have time to collate and organise posts - we're kept more than busy; and do bear in mind, we're actively-contributing members too, not just moderators...

It means really nothing. No need to find black cat in dark room, especially, if there is no black cat there.

A DFA STAR 50mm on the way could explain why Pentax is not considering the DA55 a fully capable FF lens. That struck me as strange when the 55 is widely reported to cover the full frame image circle, yet they did not include it with the longer primes as fully supported. Just a thought...

At Tokina?

At any business that manufactures something to sell. They develop concepts, solicit investments, then manufacture and market the products.

It takes capital, and most businesses don't have buckets of cash lying about.
