Sometimes it pays to read the fine print! :) :)

Classic case of an ebay seller not knowing what they are listing, but it paid off for me big time. Hopefully it's in good shape, but for $14.99 it's worth the risk.

Can't wait to pair this puppy up with my Tamron 80-200!

From the item description:

"Up for auction is this camera lot Included is a Sigma PAN Focus comes in a lens carrier. Also included is a Pentax SMC Pentax F 1.7 AF. Also included are some other items I think they are lens filters. One is marked Hoya Skylight..."

An F50/1.7 and a few other things. Well done!
I've done deals where the filter size is listed instead of focal length, an occasional great deal on 52mm and 58mm lenses! Shopgoodwill is especially good at that..

Not an F50 1.7, no - even better than that! Have a look at the pics again and squint a bit...

And yes, nothing like buying those "49mm Hoya Skylight 1A" lenses. I've bought a few of those too.

It's the Pentax-F 1.7x AF adapter, which sells for a little bit more than the price paid in that auction .

Nice find! It pays to be fastidious .

That seems to be about the going rate these days. I've always wanted one, more so since I now have the Adaptall 80-200/2.8 lens. This should be just the ticket for that lens.

Here's the thing - I watched the auction for the whole week after I found it, and then like a numbskull I forgot to bid on it. I remembered ONE MINUTE AFTER the auction ended with no bids.

In a panic I messaged the seller, and she graciously relisted it as a buy-it-now for the starting price. It sat there on eb*y as a B-I-N for about 40 minutes before I was able to get to a computer and hit the buy button. Stressful! But in the end it worked.

Nice. I'm pretty sure that Sigma lens is the 135mm 2.8, but it looks to be in Canon FD mount rather than Pentax K mount. Either way I don't really mind.

Just an update to say that it arrived, and was in fantastic shape. I've been using it with my Adaptall-2 80-200/2.8 and it works great. Very pleased with it. The image below is from one of my son's soccer games (not my son, just the keeper on his team). This pic was shot at full zoom (340mm) and nearly wide open (f5). The combo reports wide open on the lens (2.8) as f4.5 when the 1.7x is used.

A wee correction to that... it "always pays to read the fine print" that way, less stuff bites you in the arse.
