60-250mm tele by pentax does not want to auto-focus

Anyone else have/had this problem? What was your SOLUTION???

For what its worth...
Lens in "Auto" position? Check and clean contacts on lens and camera? Worse case could be SDM failure...a rarity for the 60-250 lens. Ability to test lens on another Pentax camera body?
Hope it is only something simple...

Sadly no one has figured out a workable screwdrive conversion for this lens.

Is the switch on the lens set to MF? It gave me a scare once, mine had been move accidentally.

I've been there too. In my case it looked like AF was set but carefully moving it it was clearly not all the way to AF.

I have my K3-II set to use the AF button on the back.
I press and release it quickly about a dozen times - never waiting for it to actually try to focus.
Between 1-2 dozen presses it "wakes" up and works.
I have to do this every time I use the lens (used rarely and sits on the shelf a lot).
