The Sigma EX 12-24 arrived today.
I went out to take a few test shots before work. Pretty curious to see what it looks like on a screen. I will post the results here tomorow.

From time to time the Tokina 17/3.5 with K-mount floats in bay.
It is a well reputed full frame super wide.

I will second Ulibar. I have got the lens myself. Apart from flare control, it is a very nice wide angle lens.

Shots from the Sigma EX 12-24

As promised here are a few test shots from the lens that arrived yesterday.
They are just converted from raw with my default settings, so there is very little sharpening applied:
Both shots are wide open, if you can call f4.5 wide open...

at 12mm:

At 13mm (slight crop):

100% crop of another shot at 13mm wide open:

So, it is not the sharpest lens in my kit, but that was expected. Barrel distortion seams to be pretty well controled. I as I was converting my images, i realized that I didn't even try to go at 24mm... I just love wide angles, what can I say.

I am going to keep on playing with it and I will post a review with pics on the lens review database.

OK but I was talking specifically about Pentax primes in those three series in me post was not making a general observation about all glass below 18 mm from everyone
I have an SMCP-A 15mm f/3.5 that is definitely a rectilinear full frame lens. It's quite a nice lens, actually.
