Congratulations!

Get the DA15 cap if you really want it for the aesthetics, but a pinch cap is far handier.

I agree. For me, the 21 is the only lens that I use the push on lens cap for - because of the hood design. For all others I use a pinch cap.

Congrats on the set.

For me the 35 macro also, and again because of the hood design.

hood design.....

the 40's hood & cap design is just masochistic - whenever I have it mounted, I always swap out the OEM hood & cap for a plain metal hood and pinch cap.... just because I know that the cap is going to either get misplaced or I'll leave it in my pocket and it'll go into a piggy bank with the rest of my loose change...

Can't remember the sizes off the top of my head but I have pinch caps which fit the 40 and 70 hoods just fine.

I use a Fujifilm film canister cap on my DA 40. The DA 70 doesn't bother me. The DA 20-40 cap frustrates me by falling off frequently in the bag.

Haha, absolutely agreed. Took the 40mm out over the weekend and it was a pain dealing with the cap!

I'll start looking for some pinch caps.

Also, are you guys using lens filters (UV, for protection) on your limited lenses?

On my 15 I use a UV filter for protection. It also makes use of a pinch cap easier; I use a thin generic one.

I have a thin generic cap on my DA 15. It is the kind that has external tabs you push in rather than a pinch cap. It can only go on oriented to the low spots on the hood, but I find it really useful.

The filter I have makes it so you don't have to find the low spots to get the cap back on. It's still easier to take off if you do the low spot alignment with the pinch spots. I also like that, should I not put the cap back on the lens before I put it in the bag, I don't worry about the front element of the lens. Now and then it makes life a lot easier.

The cap aspect is probably the only thing I don't really like about the SMC DA 15.
