I own the DFA 24-70, but have no experience with the 28-105.

In my opinion, "sharper than" starts to get really subjective. Unless you are shooting each lens at its optimum aperture in perfect light, you need to define needs better than "sharper than".

Less field curvature, better performance in the corners at f4, better diffraction control at f11, flare control, aberration control... these are better examples of what would help you find a lens suited for your needs.

Resolving 3500 lpw verus 3000 lpw on some test chart translates into almost ZERO value in the real world.

I own a K-1 and the DFA 24-70 for 3 reasons, I require a FF image circle, I require flare control of in frame light sources I preferred the flatter plane of the DFA 24-70 over the 28-105.

I choose the much more expensive lens for those specific reasons. If the 28-105 had better flare control and less distortion, I doubt I could tell the two lenses apart looking at most sample images.

The D FA 28-105 was reviewed pretty well by the PF staff, particularly for sharpness. There is a brief comparison in that review to the D FA 24-70 and it doesn't not seem like there is much of a difference on that front.

If you're unhappy with your results the first thing I would look at is checking your autofocus (calibrating if need be), and/or doing some test shots with manual focus in Live View with focus peaking turned on.

The 28-105 shoots well above its cost suggests on both sharpness and IQ.
