24-70 DA reviews????

Seriously, what's the go out there??? Is it just me or is there a very scarse number of 24-70 reviews out there?

I'm guessing, but maybe you're searching for "DA 24-70" rather than "D FA 24-70"...

Have you looked at the user reviews here on the forums?

There is a nice comparison review by the Camera Store TV with Canon, Nikon, Sony and Pentax 24-70 f/2.8. Although they tested it with a K-3 II because the K-1 wasn't released at that point.

Sorry, I did mean to write dfa. Yes I have seen the comparison review (quite interesting), but apart from other Pentax user reviews i find it always interesting to see what the reviewers (I.e dxo mark, do review ecc) are saying.

There still aren't a lot of independent reviews no matter how you type it in.

Certainly the Pentaxforums have reviews, that is what happens here. But it really hasn't hit the big time yet.

It just seems to me that since Ricoh took over Pentax it has seemed that independent reviews are not as prevalent as they used to be.

If you look at Lenstip, Photozone, DXO Mark etc., often it takes many months - even a year or more - before specific lens reviews appear. I suspect Pentax kit isn't near the top of their priority lists, but I'd guess we'll see the reviews in good time. It's only been a year or thereabouts since the lens came out. Furthermore, given the focal length range, it's primarily of relevance to full frame shooters, and the K-1 is still only a few months old... I'm sure the reviews will start to appear gradually

I think in some ways Pentax made a tactical error by announcing and releasing the D FA 24-70 so far ahead of the K-1 (long before the K-1 was even *announced*). All the initial reviews were with a crop-sensor body and I think a lot of sites didn't bother to go back and redo the review this year.

I can't imagine very many people bought the 24-70 before the K-1 was available so I don't know why they didn't just hold it so they could release a flagship full-frame lineup all at once.
