Tamron 70-200 loose on K-1

Has anyone noticed if their Tamron 70-200 lens feels a little loose on their camera? I have a K-1 and notice that it doesn't feel snug on it. I can rock it back and forth pretty easily and while I am holding the camera I can feel it moving slightly. There is some play even though it locks in when rotating it. My other lenses don't have that problem. Also the lens doesn't appear to be as sharp as I would hope it would be. Maybe I just got a bad one.

Thanks,

My Tammy is snug and flush as best as it can be. It is very much possible you got a lemon, possibly one that was dropped before. See if you can get it fixed, if it is okay it is a stellar lens.

Mine seems to sit pretty tight to the body. There's a bit of play after it's locked onto the body, but all of my lenses do that. The diameter of the pin is never a perfect match to the opening on the lens, at least not in my experience with k-1 or any other bodies

I would send it back for repair or exchange, it should not do that. I had to send my Tamron back because the contacts did not line up, I actually sent my K-30 to Tamron.with the lens.

It's worth checking since you say "loose on K-1" - do you mean that it isn't loose on other bodies, only the K-1? If so, maybe the lens isn't to blame. The mount is physically the same on all K-mount bodies.
On the other hand if it is just that lens that is loose and other lenses are fine, then yes there is something wrong.

I'm glad you brought up trying on another camera. So I tried it on my K-S2 and same thing. There is a lot of play. I will be contacting B&H tomorrow and will look at returning it. I think I am going to pony up the extra money for the Pentax 70-200 lens. I was on the fence when I bought this one. There is a lot of great reviews for the Tamron, but this is my first and not off to a good start. I've only used this a couple of times and the photos were never really that sharp. Thanks for all of your input.

The definitely won't be sharp if the mount isn't right. But like most other users, I have found it to be an excellent lens in most respects.

I'm sure Pentax one is a better lens, however I'm enjoying the Tamron a lot, maybe you could try another copy and save yourself some cash for another lens) although, make sure to calibrate the lens if you get it, I thought it was soft at the long end, but after calibrating I get very sharp results
