I'd like to snag this lens on sale, as I previously got the 100mm 2.8 from Adorama for $200 off the current price last year. Is there any particular time anyone knows of that could recommend I could look around and see this for maybe $200 off? I want to buy it new and right now price is $997 new. I get adorama emails for sales, but there never seems to be a particular set time they really put deals on their Pentax lenses. Any ideas or input?

Well srs Microsystems are currently selling it for £599, which equates to about $730. A few months ago they were selling it for £740. That might be an option, depending on import duty and postage costs... (Srs are a very reputable supplier). It might also indicate that anytime now there may be a deal coming up on the lens. Black Friday is often a good day to look (I know last year they had some good deals on the 100 DFA and 300 DA*, can't recall a deal on the 200 though)
