Guess the Lens Game!

Another incarnation of the game where you guess which photo was taken with which lens. We have the 31mm Limited, the 20-40mm Limited @ 31mm (or as close as I could get), and the humble 18-55mm @ 31mm (or as close as I could get). All photos were shot on a tripod at f/4 in manual mode, and for all of them, I manually focused on the T. rex's eye. These are all out-of-camera JPEGs.

I couldn't figure out how to get different image resolutions in Imgur, so I'm just going to link to the full-resolution versions.
(A)
(B)
(C)

Which one is which? Answers will be posted in a couple of days.

I'm looking on a 27" IMAC 5K monitor and with that low light I really can't tell. So I'll guess?

A: 20-40
B: FA 31
C: 18-55

B must be the FA31. The other two are a bit harder. A the 18-55, and C the 20-40?

A 18-55
B 31
C 20-40

If I may, I find the picture not quite suitable for a direct comparison between lenses.

Among other things:
1. there are no bokeh balls, which are a distinctive trait of a lens, both when stopped down (shape) and wide open (cat's eye effect, etc.)
2. there are no hard transitions between light and shadow, which are again something distinctive in the way they are rendered
3. there are no direct light sources in the picture
4. the subject is backlit, which I guess is bad in itself...

Nothing beats a good game of stump the chump... I'm stumped. I tend to agree with the thought that this particular picture isn't as likely to elicit differences between lenses as it is shot. That's not a bad thing - it just shows a bit of what we all know - at some level some subjects in some light aren't improved or degraded by the level of lens quality available on Pentax in general.

I'm guessing the A is the 18-55 but not a clue about B and C.

My guess:
A) 31 (it has a slightly different color rendering than the other two)
B) 18-55 (least sharpness and least contrast/details)
C) 20-40 (best tone mapping / contrast)

... now i get really curious

What's the answer?

I say a) 20-40 B) 31mm c) 18-55. Though photos A and C have the most similar tone, so you might say that those would be the two limiteds. Or possible, the two more modern lenses are A & C, because they are least like the third, the 31mm.

I agree that the photos are not good ones to illustrate lens differences.
