Tamron 24-70 F2.8

Any chance they will make this available in a Pentax mount? Here's hoping.

Umm, it is, Mick. It's rebadged as the Pentax D FA 24-70.

There have been plenty of threads discussing it.

No, you won't see a Tamron-badged 24-70 f/2.8 for Pentax. That would compromise sales of the Pentax 24-70 that Tamron is manufacturing for Ricoh (which is - for the most part - the same lens)...

Seems doubtful. I am sure that part of the agreement for Tamron to rebadge this lens includes language keeping them from releasing their own version of it in a Tamron version.

That said, back "in the day," the Tamron 18-250 was available both as a Pentax and Tamron version, which the Pentax was preferred by some people since it did have in camera lens corrections available, while the Tamron version didn't (otherwise they were exactly the same).
