Advice or experience: SMC K 28mm 3.5 vs. SMC K 30mm 2.8

Hey everyone!

I'm Philip. I'm actually new to the forum, so I just thought I'd introduce myself.

I recently fell into the wonderful world of SLR lenses on mirrorless cameras (apsc a6000 in my case), and I've decided to go ahead and purchase my first SLR prime.

After doing some digging it seems like the SMC K 28mm 3.5 and the SMC K 30mm 2.8 are both good bets, with the 30mm being about $100 more expensive. I was wondering whether anybody has had experiences, positive or negative, with these two lenses?

I'm mostly just looking for a good walk around lens to shoot architecture/the city and portraiture. I've mostly shot with a 50mm on an SLR before and the 42mm focal length sounds really appealing to me. Alternatively I could certainly purchase a 35mm f2 (or a 28mm 2.8), but I've really keen on the apparent sharpness and color rendering of the 28mm 3.5 and 30mm 2.8.

Are there any other SLR lenses that you guys could suggest that would fall into this mid focal length (on apsc), tack sharp category?

Thank you!

I have both these lenses and have been using the K28/3.5 since I bought it new in late1975. The K30/2.8 is slightly sharper, but both are truly great lenses and handle beautifully.
So either or both are good choices. Note I have only used these lenses on Pentax film cameras.

Phil.
