Good choice. Do you shoot birds and wildlife with it?

My Promaster 70-300 continues to surprise me. It's rapidly becoming my go-to lens whenever we go on a hike. It's not the most expensive I have by far but it's spending more time on there than my other lenses.

My favorite lens is the next lens I get!

I'm not sure what that will be -- a yard sale bargain, a PF Marketplace find, or something new from B&H -- but I'm sure I'll enjoy exploring what I can do with it.

LBA means the best lens is the next lens. :-)

I'm all lensed out, financially, emotionally, and physically (through carrying the new DFA 15-30 and 70-200 monsters). I had coveted the DFA 150-450, but it's just too expensive here in Australia, and besides I can borrow my son's 50-500 Bigma which does the job nicely.

So I declare a hiatus! No more lenses until some small, excellent, not-necessarily-fast, and COMPACT new FF primes appear from Pentax. I think I would be quite happy to replace the 15-30 with a suitable modern AF prime should one appear.

My old 200mm f4 SMCA macro has been my favorite lens on every camera body since I bought it second-hand and mounted it on my LX. Among new lenses, the 28~105 has impressed and has never disappointed. It's an excellent basic zoom that yields IQ as good as, but not the zoom range of the excellent 16~85mm on my K3.

For a non-Pentax lens, it's a tossup between my ancient (1980's) Tokina 90mm f2.5 and the very recent Voigtlander 40mm f2 Ultron. I have not used the latter very much, but images so far are 100% satisfactory.

Well, I had in mind my DFA 100mm and 24mm Sigma ultra wide, but then took another look at my 1980s A70-210 and was amazed that this zoom seems to outperform the M200mm.
Zoom into the full size of the above picture to see what this old lens can do. only minimal PP for exposure.

Tie between the Fa 20/2.8 (much better than I thought it'd be on K-1 - good enough that I really have zero desire to get the excellent 15-30) and the Fa 43 (it was always the 1 of the 3 amigos that I didn't care for on APS-C, but has absolutely come alive for me as it's the perfect FOV on FF sensor).

I have had a high UWA fever ever since my K1 arrived the beginning of May, so I will go with the FA20. Glad that I can say that because I am trying to make it last me until Pentax hopefully comes out with their next irresistible UWA prime...

I enjoy all my lenses though and FA31 is still my favorite overall....

I only have a few non-Pentax lenses that are all low budget, so it comes down to my $10 Toyo 28mm, Tam70-300, or Helios 44-2. It's a close call but for K1 guess I'll go with Helios 44-2.

Me definitely the FA* 85mm. I had it and the 77mm simultaneously. While the 77mm is more compact and prettier, to me it was no contest between the two.

My 'favourite' is any lens I put on my camera for the day.
It depends if I'm using the AF on the K1 or its MF on the A7.

UWA - the M20/4 is my most used. Really handy.

Wide - FA31ltd

Normal - Tak 58/2 (Sonnar)

Short tele - 77ltd;

100mm - Tak 100/2

THE one that's on the camera is always the favourite! The Q is whichever one is appropriate for the subject!
