Sigma 17-50 f2.8 (no OS) overexposure?

my K5iis + sigma 17-50 f2.8 have a problem with overexposure.
It permanently tends to overexpose pictures in lowlight/indoor conditions . Apparently it isn't the case outside... I've tested all of my lenses in the same conditions, and only Sigma had the problem.

Very very odd...

I had this lens for a long time with my K-5ii and K-5iis. I never had this problem.

HOWEVER.... I did notice with on camera TTL flash, I got a lot of over exposed photos. I haven't tested since I switched to my 20-40. I may test that later tho.

Perhaps this is a great excuse to learn M mode. That is a fine lens you have there.

Thanks for your response. I know this problem was very old and haven't solved yet...
This lens is very good, sharp and bright in outdoor conditions, AF is fast and smooth...
Maybe the last solution is learning Manual mode, as you say.
Once again, thanks for your help very much!

I have the same problem with that lens and K-3II. Sometimes exposure is ok, but sometimes it overxposes significantly. I couldn't figure out the dependencies.

I've found that my various A lenses calibrate as much as 2/3rds stop difference from light to dark, but most are within about 1/3rd of a stop from proper exposure. I try to remember which ones are off, and adjust the exposure compensation accordingly (I'm pretty much a TAv or M shooter).

As for pTTL issues, especially on the K-5 series where the problems are especially apparent, flash modes that don't involve preflash (A, M, ratio) strongly advised if you absolutely have to get the shot.

A particular lens that exposes inconsistently could have a sticky aperture problem or misaligned lever.

!
No need for that, you can just use the Exposure Compensation button.

No exposure issues with my K-3 and Sigma 17-50. In fact it exposes more accurately than my previous 16-45mm, which always underexposed by half a stop.
