I like the 28mm view. The snowy bank on the left is a good lead into the landscape all the way up to the sunset. Additionally, good touch with the little snow covered island.

I'm interested in what shutter speed you used, and whether the camera was on a tripod.

It looks really cold which partly explains why I came home about 20 years ago and said " I quit, we're moving south". And we did. Of course, you don't worry about hurricanes.

Made lots of photographs today, here is one Vision of A Sugar Plum Fairy

28mm is the perfect shot. Great perspective and leading lines on this one also the houses on the left bank are not as noticeable. Nice composition over all. it just shows the "power" of a wider angle view for landscapes. Did you change focus distance shot to shot? Damn it looks super cold there!

It was way too cold to be futzing around with a tripod, and I wasn't terribly prepared. I went to the post office to pick up the lens, and when I came out, there was a sunset happening. What's guy to do? New lens, sunset, bought the camera, but not the warm boots.

It is usually cold, but, it's giving us unusual light.

It's super cld here -25 at the moment. We'll have to wait until this afternoon when it get all the way up to -16º C to walk the dogs. It' too cold for their feet right now.

Another vote for the 28mm version as the most pleasing image.

You guys and your winners..... I just wanted to test the lens at different focal lengths and demonstrate the range of the zoom. In this case, it's like kindergarten, they're all winners.

But I will take your advice when I post to Canadian Landscape on Facebook. I really only like to post winners there. Thanks to everyone for being part of my focus group.

Once at our college, an invited tech-advocate spoke to us about E-books and such, and stated flatly that labs for science would quickly become a thing of the past because "anything you can do in a lab you can simulate on a computer." Hope she has surgery by a doctor who learned anatomy from a computer.
