24mm would be nice, but the size of the 28-105 is very nice. This lens makes the K1 vacation worthy.

I'm wondering about that new Samyang 20 myself.

I also bought the K1 body only. Couldn’t decide which way to go, DFA24-70 or DFA28-105 and the K1 alone was my most expensive camera equipment I ever purchased. Hoped for some good offers. Didn't see any in germany. So until now I simply use APS-C mode / DA18-135 in the meantime.

Since I also aspire for a lightweight kit and don’t want to wait any longer, I now tend to order the DFA28-105 in the near future.

Going this route saves me some money for a hopefully soon coming fast or medium fast very good Pentax 20mm FF lens. This one or another 20mm lens in addition would be a good base for by example sufficiently sized wide angle 24mm and 31mm equivalent crops.

Thanks for posting these nice pictures, Norm!
Mate, you should have grabbed one on the big sale on amazon US
Bought mine from the US (I'm also from Germany) and it was all fine Saved like 150 Euros without any problems with taxes or so
Have to do some more testing about sharpness and decentering, but right now, i am pretty happy with my purchase!

@normhead since you also wanted UWA you might be interested in a Sigma 12-24 then. Mine is the screwdrive version, but there is also an HSM version. It gives the same FOV of the Sigma 8-16 and is an FF lens. I've had unsolicited offers on mine since the K1 came out.
I'll watch kijiji.

I have the Rokinon 14/2.8, which is lots of fun but large. The M 20/4 is best UWA option in the 20mm range IMO. It takes no space in the bag and works great. Since the K1, it almost never leaves my bag.

With the available primes, I don't miss the 24mm on the zoom that much. The FA*24/2 is another option and adds speed. It takes more room that the M20, so it tends to get packed only when it is likely to be used.

Until now I never bought hardware outside germany because import clearance and total costs seem somewhat intransparent to me and I fear that it can be a problem if something’s wrong with the optical / electronic products. Maybe I should try once. Have to read also the returning conditions. If amazon.com or others (Adorama, B&H) offer the same conditions like amazon.de within germany it’s an option for the future. Thanks for encouraging buying directly in the us!

I was also very sceptical at first, but a member from the german biggest cameraforum told me it's totally safe to buy from Amazon.us. They also calculate all the taxes, so you get the endprice including all taxes I got no problem at all, got an international warranty card and i read, that it's no problem to give Pentaxlenses which are purchased in foreign countrys in for repair in Germany I didn't have to go to the "Zoll" too

If I could get a constant f/4 24-105, 24-120 or 24-135 I'd love it, with the longer the range the better. Heck, I'd even settle for a good 24-135 variable aperture.
Pentax FA 24-90mm F3.5-4.5 IF&AL Lens. Filter. Hood

$170! Some fungus but fully functional per the listing. It's usable wide open on APS and very sharp from f5.6 on up. It's even better with colors than with ultimate resolution.

Still not enough of a gain over my Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 for me to go with. I'd almost be tempted to find the variable aperture 24-135 Tamron as a walk around if I could.
