Can anyone offer an opinion on this FA 20 lens?

PENTAX FA 20 mm f/2.8 LENS WITH CAPS AND ORIGINAL POUCH | eBay

If the description is honest, it has good optics but needs cleaning. It certainly is priced right at the top of the price range. He has two bids but they could be fakes (done by friends).

The Zeiss lens is 1800+ And it is virtually nonexistent in Pentax mount. It was discontinued long before Pentax did the K1.

What is "razor blade"?

The Zeiss Distagon T* 18/3.5 recently sold for 465 - 665 EUR on fleabay in Nikon mount. Add 80 EUR for the Leitax mount and you are done if you like that lens.

Since there is the Leitax thingy, basically you have all Zeiss lenses, including modern ones at your disposal.

An implement of torture employed but the arbiters of "style" in the early 20th century, in times past many people did not shave every day: they had to go to a barber to have a shave. But with improved metallurgy, it became possible for disposable steel razors that could hold a keen edge to be mass produced. And the popularity of grown men with clean shaven faces like pre-pubescent boys became in vogue.

Reading up in the Distagon, it sounds like the "Leitax" is a conversion kit which you do yourself. Who sells it and which lenses (e.g. Canon or Nikon?) does it work for?

Leica & Pentax & Nikon | Leitax

David is a nice guy, a lot of pentaxians (include on pentaxforums) have taken some products to convert Nikon & leica lenses in K-mount. He's really serious, and leitax rings are a good solution.

This one is on Ebay right now
Zeiss 18mm f3.5 T* Distagon ZF Lens - Nikon Fit New Stock - Old Version 4047865400251 | eBay

Do you guys think it is convertible, for the K1?

It seems to be fully manual, whereas the Pentax FA 20
PENTAX FA 20 mm f/2.8 LENS WITH CAPS AND ORIGINAL POUCH | eBay
has aperture control from the camera.

Yes, zf or zf2 are convertible. Fenwoodian on pentaxforums is a real specialist for zf/zk conversion with leitax.

Would the Distagon be noticeably better in image quality than the Pentax FA20?

There is also the Zeiss Milvus 18mm F2.8
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zeiss-Milvus-18mm-F2-8-Lens-Nikon-Mount-Lens-ZF-2/222416900818

Would that be convertible the same way and would the K1 do auto aperture on it? The Nikon camera does.

One needs to look at how wide a 17-18mm is without the crop factor.
I can tell you: it is ultra wide (from Zenitar 16mm ) indeed (from film)

One can however get rectilinear 17mm or so lenses. I used to have a Tokina 17mm for my OM1. Superb lens. Straight lines were straight. I would hope the above mentioned Zeiss lenses were also the same.
