Pentax bayonet mount for hoods - are they the same across Pentax lenses?

The hood that ships with the HD DA 18-50/4-5.6 is a bit too expensive and doesn't come with the slip-on lens cap. I mean - $40 for a tiny piece of plastic? I could probably print one out if I still had access to a 3D printer.

Anyway, I can find a screw-in 58mm rubber hood off of eBay, but I wouldn't want to keep fiddling with the hood and inadvertently mess up the retracting lens mechanism. So, I'd like to stick with a hood that utilizes the bayonet mount since it's already there.

Is there a lens hood that would be compatible with the bayonet mount and wouldn't cause too much vignetting? Is the bayonet mount the same for all Pentax lenses? Could I theoretically fit the PH-RBA58 (for FA 20-35/4) or the PH-RBD58 (for FA 28-80/3.5-5.6) on to the DA-L 18-50/4-5.6 lens?

Thanks!

They vary. Some overlap and interchange can be done but it is not easy to figure out without trial and error.

That's what I figured. When I shot Olympus 4/3, the lens hoods were all interchangeable because the bayonet mount on the Zuiko Digital lenses was the same...

Best regards,
Thanks - I actually found something like this on eBay and I think it would work. It's not screw-on, and should still allow me to use my lens cap.

I'll get it when my eBay bucks certificate comes in tomorrow! Thanks!
