Screw-on wide angle lens adapters?

Looking at ebay there seems to be a lot of people selling wide angle, fisheye, or telephoto lens adapters, the type that screw on to an existing lens where the filter normally screws on.

I was just wondering if anyone's tried any of these and what kind of image quality I could expect from them. Do they really work?

I believe you answered your own question...:-)

I had some Opteka's for a P&S I gave away as I would have felt guilty taking money for them.

I have seen people here and on dpreview that are recommending Raynox (DCR150/250) for macro (if you want to go that way)
