Not until you own one of the three Amigos'. FA 31, FA 43, or the FA 77. I have the FA 31, but did have the FA 43 for awhile before I sold it due to me not using it much because of the focal length. I will still purchase the FA 77 at some point in time.

I will resist that temptation, I will, I must. I have 7 pieces of glass. I covered all of my frequently used focal lengths plus have a Macro and two zooms to do duty from 16-300. Now a second body for the K3II replacement is a different story. I am set for a long while regarding glass.

My thoughts were buy some good zooms and then get some exceptional primes to cover at each end plus in the middle at frequently used focal lengths... Hence my two DA HD Limiteds, my two DA *s and my three regular DAs.

"If you only knew the power of the Dark Side" you would also know that "Resistance is Futile". You will own one of these FA limited lenses soon......very soon.

I am really trying to NOT do that. Strangely enough I am very happy with what I have - finally. I am going to save for the K3 II flagship replacement and some decent filters... The filter thing is another story for a different thread. Which I will post soon!

It's never final.

You've got a fine kit now. Much as I love the FA Ltds (I have the 43 and 77) and the FA*300, I can see the reasoning behind a DA* and DA Ltd based kit. Not that they are all the same of course, but there is a certain "house style", and they have the modern virtues (such as better resistance to flare, more even sharpness, etc).

I did have some fun over the weekend but I found out no more cheap filters especially with my 300 *! Only Hoya HD Clear protective filters and nice Hoya Skylights from now on. Nothing like learning the hard and expensive way!

That is in fact the thoughts I had as well. I am now committed to Pentax completely if you couldn't tell. A kit with a few DA * lenses and DA Limited's along with the mandatory DA glass too. I did end up pulling the trigger on the HD 20-40 Limited as my walk around for my KP. Trurthfully it is a sweetheart of lens, might be my favorite among my Limiteds due to the nice 2X zoom coverage. Will cover most of my shots, plus the fact that at 20mm it is an F2.8 which is pretty fast is good with me. The 16-85 will be on the K3II and 20-40 will be on the upcoming KP I predict.
