Zoom Lens

I am looking for a new zoom lens somewhere in the range of 50-400mm ( it doesnt have to be 50-400, it could be 60-300 etc etc)

It should be AF and will be used on my K10D. It shouldnt be too heavy, as I would be carrying it around all day

I would like to stay under the $1000 mark as well.. the less the better.

Using those criteria, which lens would you buy? (zooms only, no primes)

Pentax DA 50 to 300 for around $400, or the DA 18 to 250 (my favorite) for around $550.

You couls also do the Sigma 50 to 500 (also known as the Bigma) for around $900 to $1,000 but it is big and heavy.

If you go here: Pentax Lens Review Database - Main Index you can look at reviews of nearly every Pentax lens made.

Yes, I considered the bigma as well, but decided it would be too big and heavy.. I'll take a look at the database, but sometimes it better to ask, since not everybody posts reviews in there

Well, I looked at the reviews and a few threads and decided on the DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED and while I was at it I also ordered a DA 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 ED (could't help myself)
