Does anyone know of any issues on the Pentax D FA 24-70 f/2.8 with vignetting...

On my copy of the 24-70 i get a large amount of vignetting and there is also a lot of color fringing. Does anyone else have this lens and experienced the same issues?

As noted you might get more response in the lens forum, maybe a mod will move it for you. Not everyone reads the Introduction section.

To answer your question, I don't. Quite happy with mine in fact. Perhaps you could post a few images to show the problem.

See here for our tested vignetting:

Note that the K-1 has in-camera corrections for both vignetting and aberrations which should make them a non-issue in daily shooting.

Welcome.

I don't have any fringing to speak of, but there is a fair amount of vignetting (maybe a stop and half?) in the corners wide open -- particularly on the wide end. It is fixable, either with the lens corrections in the camera or with Lightroom profile.

Vignetting is a common occurrence with FF zooms. However, it really is a non-issue these days, as others have mentioned. A single click in post processing will fix it, or you can even get your software to do it automatically on import if you wish. I am happy for lens designers to concentrate on reducing other aberrations.

My copy of the D FA 24-70 has a little bit of purple fringing at 24 mm wide open. But not too bad after all.
Vignetting at large apertures is definitely an issue.

Has anybody else noticed that there is a lot of Vignetting when shooting raw at 2.8?
Well last night I was trying to see if I could come up with a solution to automate the vignetting correction and I noticed that the Lens Correction profile (from adobe camera raw) for the 24-70mm is actually set up for a 1.5 crop factor sensor....

Anyway, I've manually edited the profile and changed it to the correct sensor format and it has really helped.

Obviously, this could be totally wrong, the profile has been made by Ricoh and perhaps they have used it on one of the non FF models? But it does seem very odd considering it was made for the K1

This is my first attempt. I'm going to do a bit of research and see if I can compare it to the built in Peripheral Illumination correction.
